Hop Yik Tai Cheung Fan House

If you happen to be in Kowloon, HK and found yourself in Sham Shui Po, you will be delightfully surprised by how much you can satiate your craving for traditional HK food for only a little over 30HK$.  Visit Hop Yik Tai Cheung Fan house (合益泰小食) and find an amazing deal for a good no frills lunch.

The beef balls are tender and juicy. Three big pieces for HKD12! This is the cheapest beef ball i’ve bought so far and they’re amazing. Siumai ranks second to the beef ball (also HKD12 for 3 pieces). But the queue-forming attraction is their silky smooth Cheung Fan loaded with peanut and hoisin sauce (sorry not in the picture). HKD 10 for a small serving.

This small serving means about 5 long pieces of cheung fan cut into halves. They also have fishballs, pork skin, and congee. Spend only a total of HKD34 for truly a satisfying lunch.

They’re so good you have to line up and wait for your turn to be sitted—but eating by the alley is also a good experience!
